Chapter Fifty: Research Methods

Lucifer the Devil had retreated to one of his sanctuaries, again deep in thought, while spending the entire day busy reading more scrolls and literature available at his disposal regarding the powers and limitations of the Occult. This place is similar to a Library; no, in fact, it is a library containing almost all of the secrets known to the Universe. Almost.

Well, it would have been totally complete if not for the deliberate intention of the divine to blur the details of the conclusive effect of the salvation history as narrated, away from his demonic comprehension that will allow him to interpret the destiny of man and the undying quest in sabotaging the rational soul, including the predestination of those who have benefited from the impetus of the inherent power that preceded all of creation, mainly through the heavenly efforts of love, mercy, and compassion.

But Satan is not a stranger to the complete disposal and definition of the power exclusively held by the divine, in its mighty form as the Spirit of Truth, which is, of course, impenetrable from the antiparticles that compose the bonds that make up the Occult. The repulsive reaction that will happen when good and bad forces collide will result to an excessive force that may be miserably damaging to those who are possessing an evil nature, rather than it was the goodness that is ultimately destroyed.

He is not foolish enough to push the boundaries of his abilities, which, along with it, are the limited capacity of his own power. In this hidden war, there are no second chances. Every missed opportunity is very unforgiving.

The battle rages on; unhindered.

In his dedicated efforts that are primarily focused on extracting some theoretical underpinnings of his planned preparation before the behest of the Holy War, he has narrowed down his search on two main relevant things: the two subjects of potions and the dark arts. The Alchemic equation is out of the question, because the efficacy of the chalice that favors celestial matters that mainly enable the Economy of Salvation can never, ever be discarded. It is going to be a very dumb idea indeed to even attempt and risk it.

But the study of potions have proven to be a quite challenging ordeal, not even for the self-proclaimed Dark Prince to easily understand its literature, but it was in his best interest to also consider the dark arts as it relates to the potential impetus of the effectivity of these complicated potions. Although venoms and poisons are prominent subject matter in the discipline, his knowledge of the Occult has no further use in these particular applications, other than its direct link to the very nature of the serpent that later on deceived the very first woman.

Apart from that, there is nothing else to say. However, the link mentioned is not totally obvious, if ever there was a legitimate one.

But he was skeptical enough to think that the lands from where these two fields of endeavor developed, fully and cooperatively, are somewhat protected by a material he is not quite sure; but he strongly feels that this protection (although magical in nature) may be related to the goodness of things that can be corrupted by the parasitic invasion of evil.

It was Lucifer the Devil's thesis that someone has deliberately created this world to hide something. Every evidence that he has seriously studied points into this very difficult conclusion to even discount the possibilities that the utility is hidden somewhere that he must possess.

That is why he was suddenly interested in the crown jewels.
