Chapter Forty Eight: The Arch-Sinisters

As the draw of the official Combs is about to begin in a few days, the anxiety builds up not only for the selection of the Question of the Steel of Willows, but, also, the choices to be made for the competent Sinister Agents that would serve its decoy responsibilities inside of the Prudence Wars arena. This is a vital element of the Games, since many Games that had transpired before had been won or lost by the quality of the appointed Sinister Agents.

Historically, these Sinister Agents have been chosen secretively by the Commissioner of Games, and the choices are heavily influenced by the profiling made regarding their fighting skills and unique abilities to "have been shown in secret" for and on behalf of the Honorable Commissioner by a select group of "Elders" known as the Arch-Sinisters.

The Arch-Sinisters have had the most daunting task in the history of the Purple Games, for sure.

But to become a Sinister Agent is no ordinary task, and no one knows that the Sinister Agents had the ability to choose another power from the Arch-Sinisters that will enable them to support the success of a particular Combs of their own choosing. It was as if the fighting on the battleground had been put up just for the show, even in consideration of the Group of Seven's mighty influence, in order to "cater" to the interests (especially the bets) of the high rollers in the gambling arena.

This is a form of the truth that is very inconvenient for the many who had been ordained to become the Commissioner of Games because the Arch-Sinisters had been governing the Brokerage Firm as a "secret colony," and every person there (potioneers and dark masters, alike) must submit to their faithful wishes. Many of those who were appointed to this role have led a rough life, sometimes condemned by the many to the fullest. Yet, nobody had the perfect clue of the real motivations that all righful Commissioners has done in display for their public demeanors.

In fact, the last Commissioner of Games had killed himself, with a weapon coated by the most potent known poison that can possibly concocted at that time, and the circumstances surrounding the proximate events of his death was dark, evil, greatly concealed, and the surrounding circumstances are extremely suspicious.

But nobody had any real interest in the Commissioner's last moments of life as his name was shamelessly slandered in the face from a controversy he did not actually commit on his own doing. He was involuntarily dragged into a corruption anomaly relating to the many shady transactions strongly linked to the Brokerage Firm, and he had no other recourse because all the facts that had been under scrutiny are deemed to be indefensible.

Ultimately, he took his own life in the most painful way possible. Tragically, his own unfortunate demeanor had become his own Sinister Agent of his incomprehensible barbaric death.
