Chapter Twenty Six: Group Selection Part II

"Mr. Commissioner, we would like to use our two preemptory challenges for this round to strike potential Jurors 1 and 9 from the final pool of candidates eligible to sit in the Group of Seven," Guilder Spoors pronounced after he was finished with his general questions.

As soon as Guilder took his seat, the Accedited Team Captain for the Potioneers, Ronian Divespan, rose from his seat to address the ten remaining jurors for his general questions.

He immediately cleared his throat, approached the jury box, and began.

"Ladies and gentlemen, assuming there was a controversy in the results of the Prudence Wars for whatever reason it may be, do you believe that the Group of Seven must decide solely and exclusively in proclaiming its legitimacy and must be empowered to certify the results with finality as it may see fit and necessary? Please raise your right hand if this is so."

All ten of the remaining potential jurors raised their hands.

"Wonderful," Ronian positively acknowledged the jury's response to his question to be favorable. "And do you believe that the Group of Seven should have jurisdiction on determining the qualifications of all Sinister Agents to be used in the Major Contest? Show hands if you agree."

Five of the potential jurors answered affirmatively.

"If, in case, there was a question regarding the competency of the Group of Seven for whatever reason to be cited later on, should the Most Prudent Organization acquire jurisdiction if the reasons mentioned for the petition warrants an action to intervene in the best interest of the ideals of the Prudence Wars? Please raise your hand if this is what you believe in.

All of the ten remaining jurors showed approval to the statement.

"Yes, thank you very much," Ronian said with clarity. He was deliberately concealing the intent of his questioning as the Dark Masters were listening intently, trying to understand the strategy of the Potioneers side. He continued after briefly posing.

"Do you think that the Group of Seven should be empowered to interpret the rules of the Games but allow the Most Prudent Organization to review the same to lend more credibility to the Major Contest as it is now part of the standing orders? Please show hands if this is a fair statement."

All of the persons in the jury box raised their right hands.

"Mr. Commissioner, we will not use any preemptory challenges at this time. I am now through with my questioning."
