Chapter Twenty Five: In Search of a King
It was dark all over, but the moon was slightly there to provide for the faintest source of illumination. The scene was full of trees and bushes, and everything was errily silent. There, Lucifer the Devil, the Dark Prince, was conversing with one of his most faithful servants.
"Who is this King Herenius, again?" Lucifer asked his servant as he was given the timely oral report of the search for the Relics of Adam and Eve.
"It was uncovered from our search of historical records that one of these monarchs named Herenius who reigned in that particular story have cooperated with the Angelic choirs to hide the significant portion of these Relics, and away from your victorious reach, my Dark Prince," the servant attentively replied.
"I see," Lucifer said, but still unsatisfied. "How many Kings named Herenius have ruled, according to the history you were gallantly quoting? The reference you have presented seems very peculiar and odd, especially when we relate it to the current discoveries we have in our possession."
"It is very curious, indeed, my Prince," the servant said in agreement. "According to our best efforts, there were a total of thirteen Herenius who ascended to the Throne. We are currently preparing to take the next steps to investigate further, and identify the right King."
"Thirteen of them," Lucifer repeated with curiosity. "That will significantly delay our most dilligent search. Where do you plan to start for this witch hunt that is so inconveniently proposed for us? I have used one of those serpent before, and no other hindrance can stop me to use one again. Find that open pit. Nothing should stop us!"
"Of course, my Dark Prince," the servant responded with politeness. "But we must tread very carefully through the circumstances. I have already investigated the potency of this Firewall, my Dark Prince; it will do us more harm than good if we are going to be reckless."
"Indeed," Lucifer said. "Who is this certain King Herenius who dare to cooperate against our will? What audacity does he even have in his resolve to even attempt to get in our way?"
"The audacity is very clear, my Dark Prince. We all know where it is coming from."
"I thought so," Lucifere agreed. "Extract from him any information that will lead our search to the Relics, use whatever means at your disposal, and then, after that, kill him in the most painful and cruel manner. Show him the wrath of the Devil. Now, go. Do as I say, at once!"
"It will be done dark Prince."
