Chapter Thirteen: A Conversation from the Enemy Lines

There were two people quietly conversing in a dark corner somewhere within the territory of the Potioneers, which is near its Eastern frontier. It was the hushed voices of two male adults, one is hoarse and the other quite intimidating.

"Is the appointed time fast approaching? We are all getting impatient."

"This is not a question of timing, but a search for the right Reader. Once we have found him, it will be all over for them. It is entirely dangerous to break the code of the Rhetorics."

"I see. And who is this Reader, then?"

"He will present himself in the appropriate time. It will suffice for now that the designated Reader will emerge from this Prudence Wars of theirs. We are going to watch very carefully, selectivelly, and we will watch all the competitors like a hawk."

"How about the Dangerous Rhetoric? Surely, we do not want to conjure anything that involves its unwanted effects?"

"The Dangerous Rhetoric has not been part of this Agreement, but only the efficacy of the impossible bond. If anyone should be involved in this mess with the Dangrrous Rhetoric, it should be the Treaty Organization."

"You have not read the law, haven't you?"

"Alright. We will worry about the Dangerous Rhetoric later. For now, the search for the Reader is the primordial responsibility."

"So, what is the plan?"

"We will use a Sinister Agent to test the suitability of the most capable competitors, while everyone is clueless as to what was happening. They will all enjoy watching their little game as we gather all pertinent information in locating the Reader."

"Are we sure that we will not be detected? The Group of Seven will not be very easy to fool."

"We will play by the rules."

"Which race will the Reader emerge?"

"I think you know the answer to this."

"The Steel of Willows should be able to seek its legal status, right?"

"Yes."

"I guess we both know who to look out for."
