Chapter Eleven: The Commissioner of Games

The most important thing about the Most Prudent Treaty Organization's Purple Junket is not the battle itself (although the holding of the event has been known to attract the best competitors and the richest betors to the Ampitheater), but what the provisions of the Statute for the Word of Honor Act actually say, which outlines the basis for the organic rules of the Major Contest, and what actually constitute the deed of winning the Purple Junket crown.

The rules for this prestigious battle has been altered so many times within its long history, enough for it to lose the primary purpose for which it was constituted. While efforts has been made to stick to the true ideals of the contest, much of its parts have succumbed to the social transformation that happened in history that helped shape its current standing that is, and has always been, generally accepted by both races.

The Major Contest for the Purple Junket is held on account of a major reason: that is, to settle an important question which may either be political or social in nature. The questions put forward to the Most Prudent Treaty Organization are considered by a Group of Seven, which consists of former winners that had the opportunity to wear the crown of the Purple Junket.

Once at least four members concur on a major question, that question is set aside for the next round, until the group has considered all questions put forward, and by then the final vote is to be held to determine the question that will be declared the "official motivation of the contest."

Of course, it is expected that the Dark Masters (being the cordial host of this edition of the Major Contest) will put forward the question to legally acknowledge the presence of the Steel of Willows, and there were enough talks that such question will easily pass the Group of Seven's choice for the contest's motivation, which is expected to be sponsored by the Dark Masters who have the greatest interest on the matter.

Because of the severity of what is at stake, the Potioneers are expected to make the best efforts to elect a friendly Junketer that will support their causes (mainly to avoid the question of the Steel of Willows), but they are also anticipated to come up with an equally controversial question of their own in order to avert this almost certain probability.

As the Director-General of the Most Prudent Treaty Organization prepares to call for the election of this elite Group of Seven, many of the Potioneers and the Dark Masters are debating among themselves on who shall officially enlist themselves for the Annual Gathering of the best of the best in strategic alliance and combat skills. The Purple Junket has been a great symbol of strength, courage, and the many individual chivalric virtues, so that the title of a Junketer is very much sought after in every rank or class within the fabric of society.

Current rules now permit the Board of Potions and the The Dark Firm to determine their own internal criteria in the selection of their Anti-Heroes, subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Games, but the selection of the Sinister Agent that pertains to the main motivation of the contest remain to be the sole responsibility of the Group of Seven.

Sinister Agents are the pawns of the Commissioner of Games "to make sure that the winner does not win because the opponents are weak, but has gallantly withstood the test of strength and determination by the introduction of Sinister Agents to the 'main cause' of the Anti-Hero."

The power of the Commissioner of Games regarding the introduction of the rule on Sinister Agents has allowed him to influence the results of the Major Contest for the Purple Contest, and this has been consistently being noted with severe bias by those wanting to reform the process.
